Collaborative organizations are highly effective.
Members of the Collaborative for Jewish Organizing are essential partners in multi-racial coalitions which are winning tangible changes that benefit the lives of millions of people. Just a sample of these victories include:
Affordable Housing: Passing rent stabilization legislation in Montgomery County, Maryland, foreclosure moratoriums in Michigan, and multiple victories for housing justice in Minnesota
Supporting Families: Dramatic increases in child care worker compensation in DC , expanding paid family leave in DC , and establishing paid family leave for 2.5 million workers in Maryland
Building safer communities through community-based alternatives to policing in North Carolina and police accountability in Chicago
Major wins for immigrants in Chicago, Minnesota, and Massachusetts
A victory for voting rights and against gerrymandering in Pennsylvania
Why Fund the Collaborative?
Since its founding in 2019, the Collaborative has raised and invested more than $4 million in the field, contributing to social change and power-building across the country. Investments in the Collaborative translate into immediate investments in the field, adding organizing capacity, contributing to policy change, advancing voting rights and civic engagement, fighting racism and antisemitism, and strengthening democracy.
The Collaborative has enabled its member organizations to build on their foundation of excellent work, by enabling them to sustain that work, learn from each other and broader movement spaces, and maximize resources. The Collaborative’s organizations work in diverse political geographies and Jewish populations ranging from California to North Carolina to Texas, from Detroit to Baltimore to New York.
In addition to providing crucial flexible funds to its members, the Collaborative has invested resources in capacity-building across our organizations. The Collaborative’s networking and professional development efforts span the functions of member organizations, including specific capacity-building settings for Communications staff, Development staff, Organizers, and Executives.
With its lean infrastructure, the Collaborative leverages investments, giving funders a streamlined way to channel resources to a diverse and powerful set of organizations, places, and campaigns.
